Sounds as if you do have enough coping mechanisms. I would listen to her.

My son is ADD, but I never once have considered that I have it. I do the same
exact thing as you described above. I am an extremly forgetful person. Also
on my job I have to make lists to remember to do things, becuase otherwise I
forget. But, for me I have just always called myself the absent minded
professor, I did real well in college and am book smart but when it comes to
everyday things I am a space case..:)
