TA> No the Chunnel and Ferry.. The ferry is the most commonly used method..
TA> You DRIVE your CAR onto the ferry, buy your cheap
TA> cigs/ale in france or belgium then DRIVE back ont the
TA> ferry and a half hour later you are DRIVING your CAR
TA> home.. The supervision is'nt as close ona ferry,
TA> especially if you go on a coach, b'cause Customs &
TA> Excise have a lot of other ppl on the coach to check as
TA> well, so they just look at your passport, then wave you
TA> through (Thats if they even bother looking at your
TA> passport..) but I know of at least 8 ppl who do it, and
TA> I live in a small area..!
Ah, but that's a question of enforcement, not banning a product. Even so,
the Doctor V64 still isn't very justifiable; it's akin to handing a criminal
a gun and then trying to stop him from committing a crime with it.
TA> Nintendo should have
JF> improved protection on carts is irrelevant; what's done is done!
TA> Are guns legal..? Are Missiles legal (for
TA> Governments)..? Both are legal.. Both make the ppl
TA> concerned rich.. Both kill people..
TA> But if Nintendo REALLY wanted to stop piracy, improved
TA> protection routines is the way to go about it..
TA> Do you think The PS Mod Chip should be illegal.. It
TA> has a legitimate use (To play Imports), but most ppl
TA> use it to play gold's or HK pir8's..
TA> Or what about the Saturn Magic Card or Strong Arm or
TA> Action Replay/Gameshark, they have legit reasons for
TA> their existince, but you can do illegal things with
TA> them.. Should we make those Illegal..?
Guns ARE a problem in that regard, but they also have restrictions imposed
on them. If the same were done with the V64, then you'd have to prove you
were with a game company before you could get one (since that was the
intended use... maybe).
And personally, those console devices probably SHOULD be illegal, since
they inevitably get used for the wrong reasons. People always complain about
high game prices; but maybe, if they didn't keep copying said games, the
prices would level off.
