  Ah, but that's a question of enforcement, not banning a product.  Even so,  
the Doctor V64 still isn't very justifiable; it's akin to handing a criminal 
a gun and then trying to stop him from committing a crime with it.

  Guns ARE a problem in that regard, but they also have restrictions imposed 
on them.  If the same were done with the V64, then you'd have to prove you 
were with a game company before you could get one (since that was the 
intended use... maybe).
  And personally, those console devices probably SHOULD be illegal, since 
they inevitably get used for the wrong reasons.  People always complain about 
high game prices; but maybe, if they didn't keep copying said games, the 
prices would level off.
