OG>I must diagree with you on the fact that a Mustang will not last a year
OG>with a super charger with 6lbs of boost. The engine as it comes from
OG>the factory will last 75k-90k with that much boost under normal driving
OG>conditions. If you are into transplanting engines from one car to
OG>another (besides making emissions standards nearly impossible to make),
OG>transplant the nice old Saleen engine into the standard Mustang with
OG>some optional low rear end gearing. As you appear to be unaware too the
OG>more power you use out of an engine the less it will last. Import cars
OG>are getting bigger and more powerful, and they are starting to show
OG>improvments in overall design quality. This doesn't mean though that
OG>they are some forms of super cars that exceed any American vehicle
OG>because they have a Japanese name or such. If you wish to compare
OG>modified cars with non stock engines, do so with both vehicles. It
OG>doesn't really work well if you pick and choose a light car and a
OG>sport's car engine and compare it to a stock production car.

Transplanting engines of the same year and as long as all emmission
controls are retained is legal under the state of California. American
engines had the designs of the best engines in the world...however, all
that jazz caught up to them and so they figured that if the engines
lasted forever, NOBODY will buy another car again.
I compared the two cars to give everyone a fair perspective on these
car's potentials. Most people are aware of how stock production cars
perform...and only a handful (so it seems) are aware of what I'm really
talking about. I'm not saying that it's the FASTEST car out there...but
I would say that it indeed is the GREATEST...all around car! It's fuel
efficient...it's fast, and by all means...it's a practical car to own!
For a car that performs like that...it'll cost a lot of money to
maintain.
