According to King, in the Afterword to _The_Drawing_of_the_Three_, he says
"This completes the second of six or seven books which make up a long tale
called _The_Dark_Tower_.
He also mentions _The_Waste_Lands and _Wizards_and_Glass by name.
That note was dated December, 1986.
Presumably then, if this book due this week is the fifth, then there ought to
be at least one or two more to come -- ostensibly depending on when and how
King decides he wants to finish the story.
In the meantime, SKL seems to have gone incommunicado on me, so I may
actually have to go to bookstore and buy all three just so I can catch up.
Right now I'm reading _Different_Seasons; just finished Shawshank (saw the
movie on video this summer). I'd forgotten that I hadn't read the collection.
It's been on my shelf for several months. Then I have _The_Green_Mile,
_Desperation_ (and the Richard Bachman parallel), and _Rose_Madder_, which
I've also not read yet.
