WU>Back when I went to school, racing other classmates in getting a piston
WU>out of a 350 took me twenty three minutes using air tools. On an
WU>Integra, it only takes about fifteen or so. Several parts on the
WU>Integra motor will last a lifetime...such as the water pump, oil pump,
WU>etc. Heck...even the radiator hoses will last 10 years plus! Now tell
WU>me that you've seen that happen regularly on a Chevy! Performing
WU>routine maintanance is also easier on an Integra...except for the timing
WU>belt. Spark Plugs are right on top. The distributor is right on
WU>top...dip sticks are all right in front. The oil filter is easily
WU>accessible under the car...
WU>As long as you do not overheat the engine, it'll last a lifetime...
Ever done a clutch job? Ever had to replace a CV joint? Ever tried to
shut the door on an Integra while its on a lift? Those unibody cars tend
to flex a lot even when lifted from 4 corners.
I'm not saying it's not a pain in the ass to work on my corvette.. hell,
the fuel pump is right behind the radiator hose.. but I can adjust the
valve lash on 16 valves in about 10 minutes.. you have just as many
valves, but I reckon it takes a little longer with overhead cams.. you
have to shim it on an integra, don't you?
Also, if your timing ever gets off, its a pain to adjust it.. when you
turn the distributor one way, the computer will compensate the other..
and vice versa.
All cars have their little things to deal with. Don't you worry about
the fan not working and the engine overheating? Doesn't happen on a
longitudinally mounted engine.
