I compose using GM.....my rig consists of:
 Yamaha TG-100 Module
 Roland U-110 PCM Sound Module
 Digitech Vocalist II 
 Yamaha MJC8 Patch Bay
 Yamaha PF-70 Keyboard
 Yamaha DX-11 Keyboard
 Cakewalk Sequencing Software 3.0  (DOS Version)
 
I use SYSEX to block out some of the channel on the TG-100 so the U-110 can 
play the GM Patches.  Personally, I start getting confused when I tried the 
32 channel MIDI interfaces.  Since I do NOT do any video production....I find 
that the 16 channels are quite satisfactory.
