Howdy Y'all:
I started over and built up a new machine for The Liberators' Corner.
Some of you folks probably remember me working on an ol' Gigabyte GA-5AX
Motherboard with an AMD K6-2 300 CPU in it and having trouble with Renegade
and InterMail, many years ago.
The new machine has a SOYO SY-P4VGM v1.0 Motherboard with an Intel Celeron
D 2.53 GHZ Processor. (My first experience outside of AMD) I followed some
folks recommendation and installed an external US Robotics Courier
V.Everything modem and it seems to work well _ well, at least until I tried to
run InterMail and Renegade with it. InterMail does not answer a call. I then
dropped to DOS and opened Renegade and I see the signal is getting there but
it looks strange. Rather than ATA, it looks something like "uz."
If I hit A
for answer, it accepts the call and I am quite able to log on. Seems really
strange to me.
I am sure the settings for the modem are correct in both InterMail and
Renegade (Com 1, Int 4, address 3f8) but I just can't get it to answer the
call. I did try Int 2 and 3 as well but no change. Any ideas?
Regards,
Ken,
Aileron,
Trahern,
Call me whatever you wish _ that is anything but late for dinner! ;-)
