I've now unpacked and installed (under Win98(SE)) openxp-3.9.8-35.dos.rar  
and I can report the following .....

All my archivers are found.
Each found archiver has a "tick" (ASCII-251) against it.
No mouse coordinate reporting in DEBUGLOG.TXT
*It does NOT crash* :-))

So, the question now is, why does v3.8 crash whilst v3.9 doesn't?
