You really need to ask yourself this question: Is it worth losing your
job over? That sysadmin can cause you a lot of trouble. Do you need to
run that image editing software to do your job? If so, where is your
boss? It's his job to stomp on sysadmins who interfere with your work.
I don't like such tactics any more than you do. They suck. But you
really need to be aware of the politics in situations like this.
