Avoid the ultra-cheap brands which typically have green-dye recording surfaces. I would recommend that you stick with the maximum "rated" recording speed of the disc. Don't try to push it beyond that. And don't keep the system busy with other applications fighting for slices of CPU time when you're burning a disc. I find that KODAK discs are the best value for the money. They don't even bother with the green-dye version. Their product is either the "silver" or "gold".
