I think that this is a good idea, provided "alt.lang.powerbasic" could
be killed off. Otherwise, there will be a lot of cross-posting, which
would dilute the effort.
 
Spam doesn't bother me too much, if it stays at its current level. How
would changing the name of the group stop spam?
 
In any case, good luck. I would vote for the change, but someone else
would have to do the work. ;-)
