DA>I thought this would be one that would make it back to the Theatres
TL> every DA>seven years or so...like the other Disney Classics that keep
TL> getting DA>recyles at the Theatre every few years. And people STILL
TL> keep going back DA>to see them....Pinnochio, Bambi, etc.
Around here nothing has been re-released to the theater for a long time,
except for "The Little Mermaid."
TL> I think that this movie and the Lion King too, will both come back to
TL> the Theater. Toy Story and Lion King are just thoughs kinda movies.
TL> And yes, people will still pay to see it at the big screen. There's
TL> something about the big screen that makes it even better then on tape.
TL> You can have the best of the stereo equiptment, surround sound and the
TL> works. But, the big screen will always beat it. Sure, having all
TL> that will make it better at home. I would pay to go and see both of
TL> them if they were to come back out five years from now or so.

DA>Seems that once it was on TV, it would lose it's 'box office'
attraction...
TL> Yeah, you'd think so. But, it doesn't though.
I'd have to agree with the above statement belonging to the person who
responded to you first. I can think of a few reasons why this would be true.
First, the movies sound a lot better at the theater unless one has a way to
supply surround sound, and a lot of people probably don't have surround
ound.
Second, theaters have hugh screens that can show an entire scene of of a
movie, but the same scene (whether it's animated or live action) usually has
to be edited to fit people's television screens. Finally, most of the
lassic
animated Disney movies have only been shown on cable, and some people don't
have cable. This last reason may change soon. I don't know where you live,
but around here Disney has restarted their Sunday night family movie on
network television, so maybe some of the classic animated movies will be
hown
sunday nights on network tv. After all, the first movie that Disney showed
when they started their sunday movie back up was "Toy Story."
