| subject: | Re: InterMail & Windows XP |
Howdy Bob:
I now see the light at the end of the proverbial tunnel. :-) I got ahold
of the US Robotics people and explained the problem. They suggested several
things which failed to help but the last thing they recommended did. They
suggested I get into CMOS and change "ACPI" settings. Well, I
searched hard
throughout CMOS but failed to find anything similar. The idea of hitting
the "Default Settings" came to mind so I did it. After
re-booting, I can call
in without the computer locking up. :-) I haven't looked at it again to see
what was changed but I will let you know when I get the chance.
Now I can work on InterMail and Renegade. InterMail answers the call.
When I hit Esc twice, it gives the DOBBS.BAT command. Then InterMail
completely closes. That tells me there is something wrong in there somewhere.
The DOBBS.BAT file has one line which is:
EXEBBS 14400 2 322 /Arg/V32/Lapm/V42bis 1
I know the DOBBS.BAT file tells it to open the EXEBBS.BAT file. The 14400
is the B rate the last caller loged on with. The 2 is the COM port and the
322 is the number of minutes left before the next event scheduled in
InterMail. The rest of it (I think) tells Renegade something about the
caller's modem?? I have no idea what the number one on the end of the line
is for. I suspect something is wrong with this line and that is causing it
to close InterMail. (Murphy's Law tells me I am all wet!. :-)
The EXEBBS.bat then tells this contraption to:
C:
CD \RG
Renegade -b%1%4 -%3 -q
IF ERRORLEVEL 2 GOTO NETMAIL
CD..
ECHO ATH0>COM2
Imrun
:NETMAIL
CD \RG
RENMAIL -S
CD \IM\GECHO
GE386 SCAN
CD \
ECHO ATHO>COM2
IMRUN
I don't think there is anything wrong with this batch file but thought I
might ask. Thanks again for the help. :-)
Regards,
Ken
