From: Bob Zale
Subject: Periods within identifier names

Windows Programmers -- Please note...

Historically, it's always been acceptable to use periods within
variable, label, and function names in BASIC code. However, with the
advent of Types and Classes, this practice is both confusing and very
inefficient to compile. Even though PB/DLL documented this as illegal,
in reality we temporarily relaxed the rules to ease porting of DOS code.
However, all future versions of PowerBASIC for Windows will strictly
prohibit the practice. No periods will be allowed within identifier
names, except to delimit member names (such as with user defined types).
Keep this in mind now, so that future updates will transition smoothly.
