CanalSatellite last March, will enlarge the audience for AB Sat's digital
package and enhance the programming base offered to CanalSatellite
subscribers.
The Simulcrypt agreement allows CanalSatellite and AB Sat subscribers to
receive both packages using one single set-top box. However, CanalSatellite
subscribers whose dish was pointed at Astra could not, until now, receive the
AB Sat signal..
Nokia Expands Mediamaster Production
To meet the growing demand for digital set-top boxes, Nokia announced a
contract with SCI Systems, Inc., the U.S.-based electronics manufacturer.
Nokia's Mediamaster set-top boxes are currently manufactured only in Motala,
Sweden.
Just last month, Nokia announced the launch of its Mediamaster The launch
followed Nokia's agreement with Telenor Satellite Services in April '97 for
the development, manufacture and marketing of Common Interface-based digital
receivers for Scandinavia, as well as a major order from Via Digital in Spain
in June '97.
Playboy and TPS
Playboy Entertainment Group has concluded an agreement with TPS for a weekly
two hour Playboy-branded block of programming to be presented on its CINESTAR
II premium movie service.
TPS is owned by a consortium of French companies including CLT/UFA, M6,
Lyonnaise, France Telecom and TF1. Under the terms of the three year
agreement, Playboy will provide at least 86 hours of programming per year.
Broadcast in digital from EUTELSAT HOT BIRD position, TPS offers all the
French free terrestrial channels, two premium movie channels (CINESTAR 1,
CINESTAR 2), one classic movie channel (CINETOILE), a strong combination of
thematic channels, the pay per view service Multivision, Interactive
services, as well as radio programs in stereo.

* Supercanal Holding S. A. said it has offered to acquire Tescorp, Inc. in a
transaction that involves paying Tescorp shareholders $4.50 per common share
and $144 per Series 1995 preferred share.
