Hi Shoshona, part of Open Bible Forum on versions of translations can be
used in connection with discussing a scripture in order to get perhaps
more understanding, hence the credentials of a certain version may then
be explored to see if it is in line with the Greek or the hebrew.
However in the past case, there was a deliberate attempt to flame those
who did not hold the same view of one translation over another.
The truth of the matter is that the NIV is not a translation but an
expanded translation. To date there have been noted that there are over
150 errors in the NIV.
I for one stick with the KJV and the NKJV, and the Greek and the Hebrew.
The KJV also has its share of problems as well, but all in all it is a
good translation.
Hope this helps.
Harvey
