Most of the "good" brands work well, and you will find some of the cheap 
brands might give you a few coasters here and there. I recon if a CD-RW says 
use at 4-speed, then do so, but as they are re-writeable, try at the 12X your 
writer says it can do,  and see what the results are. A lot of folks have 
long term reliability problems with read-write disks, but I have yet to run 
into this problem, but them my writer/software will not write faster than 4X 
on a 4X CD-RW.

I also believe in burning audio CD's at 2X, it seems to reduce the number of 
CD players that don't reliably read CD-R media very well, tho again you 
milage may vary.
