Well, that's not why that clause is there.
Back when I first took over this echo, the MP3 format was brand-new and the
¨copyright issue was all the rage. People got hot under the collar about
P2P ¨distribution, et al. I just didn't want to deal with it.
It's legal here in the US to make an archive copy for yourself of a
copyrighted ¨item (a la music, software, DVDs). That's not really what I
was aiming at-it ¨was the distribution gray area that I didn't want brought
up.
I'll make sure to fix that for the next posting. ;)
