Sheila, have they tried giving him Prednisone or Cortisone?  I just saw on 
Medline a mimic of Alzheimers but can't recall what it was.  I do recall that 
whatever it was is treatable.  Also, have they ruled out Myasthenia Gravis?  
I do lots of Medline searches so with the right input I may be able to give
