On 04/05/98, someone mumbled this about Does it have Caller ID?.
WZ> *ALL* I wanted to know was if the Express had caller ID. I specifically
WZ> stated that when I asked the question. Well, actually there was 2 things
I
WZ> wanted to know, but I won't even get into the adaptive answering after
WZ> seeing the comedy of errors generated by such a simple question. While
he
WZ> original reply to my original question was someone truly trying to be
WZ> helpful, it's snow-balled into a farce
This will be the third and final time I will say this... (No one here
as
responded to it at all yet) To find out if your Supra supports caller ID
ype
the following in terminal mode: ATI10 then press enter... If option #142
s
listed, then the modem supports caller ID... Actually using caller ID is
another thing entirely... First you're going to have to pay through the nose
to have your phone company give you access to it... Here it is $6.00 per
month... Second, you must have software which supports caller ID, and such
software is usually incompatible with BBS software, terminal programs,
mailers, etc. as it anwers the phone first, and is incapable of passing the
call on to an of the other programs...
