Bret,
I am just a chemical engineer and so am a "lay" person with medical stuff
but boy do I know a lot about Myasthenia Gravis. There is a very involved,
very technical book on it by the same title I would recommend. Unlike
other "orphan diseases" I would say that this illness has been studied much
more than just the disease itself would normally warrant. It opened up a lot
of ideas about autoimmunity and the operation of the neurological system.
Luckily, the condition I had -could move for an hour then 'froze' for a
while cleared up after I got off the medecine I was taking. Especially
Penicillamine causes this though for me it was a different drug. The main
hazard is the respiratory crisis but today there is treatment with a drug
which is very helpful. Any specific questions? Cathy.
