If they sold as many rounds of 22 WMR as they did 22 LR it would be a lot
cheaper

Bullets are jacketed, which runs the cost up, although the CCI bullets have
plated on jackets, much heavier than the meree cladding on .22 LR, and then
the bullets are restruck after taking them out of the barrel plater.
