You can feel the difference, even if you are using an entry-level audio equipment. It is just like comparing an original photograph to a scanned image using JPEG with maximum compression ratio. Colors and details on the photograph were lost during the compression. Look closely and you can notice the grainy edge of the image. Even if you reverted back the JPEG file into an uncompressed bitmap (BMP) file, colors and details were already lost. ...
