Find an adequately sized hammer, and deftly blow a stroke on a
similarly sized player/recorder. From there, it should be rather easy
to dislodge the subject heads for your replacement project, and the
powdery substance it was once attached to.

No... None at all.

I'm using my Rockwell chipset modem again, after an arthritic mouse
kept me from running the software affectively. It's quality is top
notch if it is a quiet caller, or a loud one. This, with mostly the
default settings, but I can scale back the file size, or bloat the
file at my leisure. It just stays a level steady, and I've never had a
problem hearing anything. I can actually hear a sharp background
noise, or a program material in a lull.

Your tape answerer uses 'cassette' tape I take it? If the mounting
points don't match, a little micro-fabrication and imagination can
usually secure things enough to azimuth and Zenith things
enough. Tracking-Schmacking... Just let'em run! (-|[
