KZ>WU>You must be some guy who actually believes what magazines say in their
KZ>WU>writeups. They ALWAYS claim a faster time than what the car can always
KZ>WU>do. I've SEEN these cars. I'm basing my statements from facts that
KZ>WU>have actually happened.
KZ>WU>When I say "Smoke", I mean that the Civic will be ahead of those above
KZ>WU>mentioned cars by about 6 or more car-lengths in a quarter-mile. It
KZ>WU>will cost $4200.00 to perform the transplant, and it takes 6 hours to
KZ>WU>complete.
KZ>WU>---
KZ>Umm, no. Most of the things I know I know from personal experience that
KZ>I've seen with my own eyes either at the drag strip or at the street
KZ>races. What you say about magazines is completely wrong, everyone knows
KZ>that the magazines report SLOWER times than what the car can really do.
KZ>They never launch the car right, and every time I see them testing cars
KZ>on TV for the 0-60 times or in the 1/4 mile they're always spinning the
KZ>tires. And what you say about 6 car lengths in the quarter mile is such
KZ>bullcrap. A car length in the quarter mile is about 3 tenths of a
KZ>second difference. Now you just said before that the VTEC Civic will
KZ>run high 13's/low 14's. But an LT1 Vette/Z28/Formula will all run at
KZ>LEAST high 13's stock. The Vette probably more like mid to low 13's
KZ>stock. And if you're saying that this Civic is beating them by 6 car
KZ>lengths...that would be a 1.8 second lead. Which would make the Civic
KZ>be running low 12's/high 11's. Now, I'm not gonna deny that this can't
KZ>be possible but I find it pretty hard to believe that you can make the
KZ>car that fast w/o a supercharger/turbocharger/nitrous set up. Basically
KZ>all I'm saying here is, you're all excited about how fast this Civic is
KZ>gonna be and you're blurting out these quarter mile times and how it's
KZ>gonna smoke these cars...but the numbers you're giving don't match up.
KZ>So either you lied about it "smoking" those cars because there's no way
KZ>it can smoke them if it's only running high 14's/low 13's, OR, if it
KZ>really does pull those cars by 6 car lengths then apparently you gave us
KZ>the wrong 1/4 mile times. There is a discrepency in what you say, I'm
KZ>just trying to find out what the truth is.

No...the times that are posted for a particular car in a MAJOR national
magazine are times that are FASTER than what actually happens. I
know for a fact that SEVERAL of their editors work for major car
manufacturers as well, and so articles as well as times are biased for
their favor.
From your statement, I know...for a FACT that you've never seen these
cars run quarter mile times SIDE BY SIDE becuase I just saw some of them
RUN yesterday. Our team beat an LT1 Vette last night. The Vette had a
Borla exhaust, and it was a '95 Model. The VETTE even gave us a three
car lead. Our car smoked that Vette but at LEAST six cars. ONE CAR
LENGTH is only .10 of a second...so you're wrong on that information as
well.
Imagine...putting an Integra motor that developed 196 horses at the
WHEELS inside a 2200lb shell will give you about 11 or 12 horses per
pound. Wait...let me guess, you also believe that when the magazines
claim that a car produces 200hp, you believe that. Take into account
that the engine output is approximately 20% different than what comes
out after friction losses and other factors before that power gets to
where it's most important - at the wheels.
You should see some of what I'm talking about. Puerto Rico has some
pretty fast cars and ALL of them do it without turbos/nitrous. The fact
that you even MENTIONED supercharging shows that you are in fact
ignorant in this discussion.
