Hi Loren (of 1:103/705),

PressPlay, a lot like other online music subscription services, isn't too
bad at all, but I think that even PP's monthly price is too much. USD$15
only provides "downloads" but not suitable for transferring to
CD. To get "versions" suitable for CD, an additional $4/month is
required that only provides 5 burnable songs. If there were an online
service that estimated only 50 cents ($CDN) or LESS per tune, then I would
start getting interested.

I never heard of iTunes. But a Google search seems to indicate that it's a
music subscription service for MAC owners?

My favourite is PeopleSound. It is among the first online services that I
discovered over a year ago that offers truly free and legit downloads.
Some of their CD-buy options are excellently priced too. The service may
not provide maintstream artists, but it can be a fun way to discover new
artists and tunes. They have partnerships with many independent Labels.
