| subject: | FM Capture Card |
Hi, Herman! HT> I suspected something along these lines. I had a Hauppauge PCI TV/radio receiver card and it worked very well until one of the solder joints on the shield went bad, then all went to crap. Luckily, I whipped out the trusty continuity tester, checked it, then resoldered it. No more problems. HT> Yup. On Friday, when I have some time to fool around, I'll try using a HT> length of shielded cable to connect the antenna to the card. Doubt that HT> will help, though, if the interference is ocurring INSIDE the computer! Some things to check: make sure the case is correctly connected with all the screws, make sure your power supply is correctly grounded (you'd be amazed at how much noise a power supply can introduce into the system). HT> I tried that. Should the antenna be a closed loop or open? I use a "T" antenna for my FM stuff. Loops are better for AM, really. HT> Who knows, if there are enough of us around Fidonet might never die. Well, I'm still here. I put a lot of time into my learning (I'm an amatuer radio operator and an A+ tech) and I love to help people and learn things m'self. I've still got a lot of learning to do in my life yet. :) Later, Sean --- Ezycom V2.00 01FA026A* Origin: Outpost BBS - outpostbbs.net (1:18/200) SEEN-BY: 633/267 270 5030/786 @PATH: 18/200 140/1 106/2000 633/267 |
