The pure text AA> version seemed like the best way to do it afterall. I noticed a bit of contradiction in there, like how in the one case they were saying that there wasn't really any way they could do some stuff, while in the next post it was saying that they were doing exactly those things... It's an interesting situation, for sure. We have whole big industries, both film and music, who are standing at the edge of a precipice, and getting nudged from behind. Things are changing that much, and that fast. One radio station I sometimes listen to has live artists on the air on a regular basis, and I heard one singer-songwriter comment the other day about how she wasn't in any particular rush to get her next cd released. How the actual creative process was more important to her now than the economics of the thing, which had been a dominant factor before. (This strikes me as a good thing!) One line that sticks in my memory is her saying "You can't compete with free"... They try to throw government power at it, legislation, etc. and it's not going to work. I can't say I blame them for trying, but... ---* Origin: TANSTAAFL BBS 717-838-8539 (1:270/615) SEEN-BY: 633/267 270 @PATH: 270/615 150/220 379/1 106/1 2000 633/267 |
