I've been using SDFTP v. 1.30 here for 6 or 7 weeks to pull in the
backbone and the filebone fully automated and with no problems. What are
you using for an autodialer and to manage the modem connection? I'm using
RAS+ and it works great. I tried Dunce and it was fine but the standard
Win95 connection management didn't work. It seems that Win95 is not too
smart when it comes to determining if the connection is still hot. I
watched several times as Win95 tried to auto-disconnect when files were
coming across because it must look for keyboard or outgoing activity to
determine if it should disconnect based on your time setting in Internet
Properties. RAS+ monitors either incoming, outgoing or both and hasn't
improperly dropped a connection since I started using it.
That whole problem came to light early on as the Dunce/Win 95 dialer
combo kept barfing on a mega load of files which kept growing. I couldn't
figure out why it kept bombing out until I watched it pop up the
autodisconnect notice with the RD light having been solid red for just
about an hour.
So I said all of that to say it's probably not an SDFTP problem. Also
what's your SDFTP timeout setting in your .ftp file? Mine's 720 which is
probably too long but better long than too short.
DS> just a simple, programmable ftp client would be cool.. :)
DS> any ideas?
