Indeed they are!

Considering that I never got a response to what follows, I can only assume
that a) my report never reached engineering, b) engineering are working on
it or c) DiamondMM have no further interest in developing flash ROM
upgrades for the SupraFAXModem 288 .....

- Hello Mark -
## On the 06.05.97 at 08:58, you wrote to Martin Foster:

I did that and it was quickly evident that this had not solved the problem
but many thanks anyway for the suggestion.
With *all* ROM revisions later than -18beta, I was also experiencing other
intermittent problems, such as the modem not responding to "ATDT", software
requiring more than one attempt to initialise the modem and a general
slowness in the modem responding to any/all Hayes commands. I'm now pleased
to inform you that I've found the solution .....
As a last ditch measure to try and solve this long-standing problem, I
decided to drop the baudrate from 115200 to 57600 just to see if it made
any difference - it most certainly *did* make a difference. Since dropping
to 57600, *all* the problems have disappeared and I'm running the -26beta
ROM code without any problems whatsoever.
The question that now needs to be answered is, why does the solution work?
I can't answer that one, maybe you or engineering can?
Considering that I was running the -18beta at 115200bps without problems,
and that all ROM revisions later than that won't operate reliably at that
speed, I suggest that someone got it wrong with -22beta and that the dodgy
code has remained there ever since. I also suggest that engineering take a
long hard look at what they did prior to releasing the -22beta ROM code.
Thanks for your time .....
Regards,
Martin
