DM> DM> I read that you could download updates for your games off the
DM> DM> internet too. But what happens to the people who don't have the
DM> DM> internet? They get left out in the cold.
DM>
DM> THC> Depending on how they design it, it might be possible to
DM> THC> exchange files with your friends directly, so as long as
DM> THC> the friend of your friend of your friend has Internet
DM> THC> access...
DM> THC> The 64DD, assuming it does actually ship with a modem,
DM> THC> might require a special Nintendo Internet Service Provider,
DM> THC> so you'll either pay $19.95/month for their service or just
DM> THC> forget it. I don't know. How does the Sega Saturn handle
DM> THC> it's Internet connection?
DM>
DM> Well I read today that It probably won't ship with a modem. But I
DM> did read some good things about it. Like if you buy Zelda 64. You
DM> can buy a cheap Disc, with more story and characters in it. And
DM> the sequel is Planned. Zelda DD, but you only buy the Disc. It
DM> runs off the Cart's engine, but the story and new stuff is on
DM> the disc.
DM> They also said that Some games will be mutli disc! Yay! And the
DM> disc only hold 64MB because they cost less. But they could make
DM> discs that hold much more. Maybe if DD is a huge hit. We can get
DM> 128 Mbytes (not bits) discs.
Not trying to start an arguement, but CD-ROM's can hold 680MB. With
compression, make that a few gigs. DVD's can hold a good few gigs. And it
only costs CD pressing plants a few cents each to make them. If you like
elda
being on DD, just imagine what it would be like on a DVD! :)
Another marketing ploy by Nintendo thats bound to fail.
Nick.
