It is down right terrible that this net cannot unite on anything, and I
expect to be slammed for this message.
By experience it takes too long to get a response from the currant CRP. 2
days.
Their are too many game boards hubbing in Net 128.
Mail is being placed on hold to facilitate users by hubs.
The currant CRP apparently has no SOP for appointing Hubs or running their
system of finance. I asked for a connection to the CRP Echo, so I could know
the status of their operation. Did anyone think to give me a rescan so I
knew where they stood or what was going on. No organization is still a big
problem.
I have been talking to many people who wish to remain silence but the same
complaints exist. Many Sysops are not getting any response from their hubs,
through netmail, areafix, or anything else. They are being ignored and have
no recourse.
Many see the Net as a back bitting, back stabbing Club and trust no one. I
can't really agree with this as I know many very good Sysops in this Net,who
are willing to work to improve it. I see most of them one Saturday a month.
They put up their money, time and effort to support the Net. Doing things
they could make money on to support the Net for free. Yes there some very
good sysops in this Net.
I have decided I will continue to bring in and feed anyone interested in a
FidoNet Feed free.
Very few of you remember the $300.00 a month phone bills some of us used to
pay for this hobby to import echo's and files. Most of the old timers are
gone, many in disgust or unable to afford to support a system. I remember a
few who used to import specific Echo or File areas and distribute them free.
They had a real good understanding of the mission of FidoNet to distribute at
cost, all echoes and files, for the users. Their systems were operated on a
first in first out basis, or giving priority to the movement of files and
echoes. It didn't take 2 days to get a local response. Being crash Mailable
means just that, everything is sent out Crash, nothing is ever put on hold to
accommodate users, everybody gets the same access, first in first out. What
are other Sysops in the NET. They are sopposed to be partners in FidoNet
with the Mission of moving Echoes and files around post haste.
Here is my offer for anyone interested, I will bring in files and Echoes, no
one will be denied a feed and donations will be accepted. Are their any
other Sysops out their who want to help support this effort? No refunds, but
a monthly report of expenditures and a Balance will be posted for everyone to
see. If the account holds a balance large enough to pay 3 months At $25.00 a
month, the donators may decide to withhold a donation for a month or two.
The understanding being that we need $25.00 a month, and should have at least
3 payments in reserve. Hubs will be appointed and replaced by those who
support with donations these efforts. All Hubs must be fully crash mail, 23
hours a day, and are responsible directly to their feeds, who will decide by
majority to replace them. There is nothing secret about the operation and
any and all inquires will be answered. Sorry but donators and users or
Sysops names will not be distributed. It is nobody business who donates or
don't. This will allow everyone to participate as a equal, which is the way
I would like to see it done.
The membership may at their desire appoint a treasurer who will supply me
with at least one month in advance by predated check the funds to maintain
this link. I will pay for my own internet connection. If at anytime the
funding runs short I will pay the cost myself, and decide if I will continue
to support this effort on my own, but will promise you as a minimum 30 days
to replace this system with another.
I have a feeling replies to this message, pro or con should be made by
netmail.
Sorry, I did want to support the Net as a whole, but find this impossible at
this time. I would save a lot of money, but alas this is not about money
with me.
