Newsgroups: jce.creative.general Subject: [OT] Perception Digital PD-1000 first impressions Date: Fri, 18 Mar 2005 10:00:52 -0700 http://www.perceptiondigital.com/products/audio/1000/ .... for under $100 from buy.com (I see now they are a little more now). First impressions are that it's a pretty slick little device. It has a 1.5 GB 1" drive and claims up to 13.5 Hours of play time on it's LIon battery. It supports fast USB 2.0 transfers and the interface seems pretty intuitive. It also has line-in and mic (built in) recording to mp3 capability. ...it has a music library that allows browsing by artist, album, genre, and playlist like our bigger JBs do. It apparently does this by scanning for changes after being connected to a PC and building a database of the currently loaded music. This seems like a nice "best of both worlds" feature while having a driverless USB mass storage method of connecting to the PC. --- FMail/Win32 1.60* Origin: http://www3.sympatico.ca/abo (1:229/390) SEEN-BY: 633/267 270 5030/786 @PATH: 229/390 2000 123/500 106/2000 633/267 |
