Right, because they moved the Nodelist Compiler code to IMConfig . You
see, I really DID understood what you THOUGHT you said .
Use option /NF to re-compile the nodelist indices for IM & IE ... note that the
normal full-screen interactive mode is bypassed (I specify option /NF ONLY and
it runs as a command-line utility).
BTW, be careful doing certain updates with BOTH IMConfig and IESetup (*some*
seemingly identical options are accessible from both) as they are VERY similar,
but operate on different Database files (as of 2.5). :( I renamed the
respective Exe's and created two Update/Sync Bat files to solve the problem.
They will get called transparently if placed in the IM main subdir:
IMCONFIG.BAT:
=== Cut ===
{at}Echo off
Imconfgx.exe %1 %2 %3 %4 %5 %6 %7 %8 %9
Rem IM config updates IMSys.Cfg
If exist fd.sys copy imsys.cfg fd.sys >nul
=== Cut ===
IESETUP.BAT:
=== Cut ===
{at}Echo OFF
Caps
Rem IE config updates FD.Sys
Iesetupx.exe /e %1 %2 %3 %4 %5 %6 %7 %8 %9
Nolock
If exist imsys.cfg copy fd.sys imsys.cfg >nul
=== Cut ===
So for me, I have to use "imconfgx.exe /nf" to re-build the indices, though
normally one would just specify "imconfig.exe /nf", Ok? That's
the only quirk I
can remember that I encountered upgrading to IM v2.5 ... :-)
FYI, I investigated migrating my FIDONet apps (Mailer, BBS, etc) to Win98SE and
found the whole Wins Dial-up thingy VERY UN-reliable. :( I hope you fare
better with XPH. I'm still hopeful to migrate all my DOS Apps to Linux (using
the built-in DOS Emulator, DOSEmu) and have tested most of them successfully
under same. :-)))
