  I have one of those red MR8 units from Fostex that is pretty handy for
recording onto flash cards, but it drives me a bit crazy.  The last thing I
recorded (Keeping in mind I am recording only speakers now) I used my Asus
EEEPC with a 4GB SDHC card, Audacity for sofwtare, a M-audio USB MobilePRE,
and a pair of SM57's.

  Worked pretty well.  In fact, worked so well I'll be doing it again this
wednesday.
