Thanks...that's a wonderful Idea...put your dial speed in your init and save 
it to NVRAM. :) Funny thing is, I *tried* putting M0L0 as part of my "init 
string" but it still didn't help...dunno why...
Question *I* have is why the heck do modem manufacturers PRESET the darn 
modems to default to showing the port speed upon connect instead of the 
connect speed? It seems silly to me...I mean, if you're wanting to know how 
fast you're connected, wouldn't you want to show the CONNECT speed over the 
port speed? Granted they *might* be the same if you're using an older term 
program that won't lock the port, but many of todays term programs will 
auto-lock the port at the highest rate possible...*shrug*
