I checked the debug logs, and it is half-working.  It is getting as far as
sending the "hello" and then failing to send that intact as one
piece.

When you disabled xon/xoff, did you "w" to write the
configuration to disk so that it stayed there for next time?

Can you run it from raw dos instead of windows etc.

Can you disable smartdrv or any other disk caching before trying.

Also check that your modem isn't attempting to use xon/xoff flow control.

Try all 3 versions of Devil - devil, complex + simple.

I told you there would be pain (I actually don't know what's wrong at this stage).
