"We" are destroying, brick by brick, the public school
system in this country.  It seems almost inevitible
that we will see vouchers, charter schools, and massive
flight from our urban schools, and despite the fact
(imo) that this would be disasterous, I'm beginning to
see no alternative to it.  If things get much worse,
I may get together with a few other teachers and try
to set up an alternative working environment myself..
