        Well, sometimes, maybe I make myself appear a little more ig-
norant than I probably deserve.  You say, "...simple harmonic sub-
stitution, m'boy".  Shoot, I graduated from the University of Min-
nesota in '68, so I am probably older than YOU look. 
        Yes, I've known about harmonic substitution for a long
time, and unfortunately the chord you suggested, as you yourself
note is the same one I was already using.  With your background
at Berklee, you undoubtedly know MORE about harmonic substitution
than I do.  Don't know if you saw the message I got from the other
fellow who advised that I try going up a triad from the dominant to
an Ab7?  Well, that did the job.  I did appreciate your input, and
did learn something from it, and do thank you again for it.  You
never did write and say what kind of music you're playing now,
what your gig is, what instrument you blow, etc. [in the old days,
all the cats 'blew' an instrument even if it was drums or a guitar,
the guy on the keyboard would say, "blow me an e-chord, man"]. I
think modern homophobia kinda wrecked that, or I'd say "blow me a
message, man".  I'm too heterosexual to be hip, I guess.
