Well, Happy New Year to all.
Some short time back (2 or 3 months?) a teacher who used to participate
here regularly (can't think of his name right now...but he was from New
Mexico?) asked:
"What ever happened to Matt Smith?"
and, not thinking clearly, I replied, "Shh! Do you want him back?" [or
something very close to that]
But now, it looks like it would be preferable to have the dreaded Tom
Cotton and Matt Smith and other teacher-hecklers of days gone by. At
least there would be something to talk about?
I am considering to revise the Guidelines for this echo to take out some
of the phrases that specifically limit criticizing teachers, etc... to
make room for more discussion in this area.
Reactions?

I am dappling with the idea of eventually gating this FidoNet conference
to an Internet mailing list. Maybe within the next couple of weeks I
will be able to start experimenting with that.
