-> One of the tricks to formatting seems to be to set things
-> up in a table... I made up a template table, one page long,
-> with 5 columns... I eliminated all the table lines. What
-> this does is to give you 4 levels of indentation which you
-> can move around to suit the layout you want. The only
-> thing I have to work with is Wordpro which will save as
-> HTML... I'm sure there are better tools, but this serves
-> for simple things.
You must have something besides Wordpro to work with!
I know you're using OS/2, and not Wintel, but there must be an
equivalent in OS/2 to Window's notepad. All you need is any old text
editor. But that's not what I'm using for my Web page. (Yes, my husband
finally got me to start tinkering around with that this year...I figure
I'll put up homework assignments and such on the Web, as another teacher
that I know of did last year. That motivates me more than just the
personal crud. Plus, I'm going to be moderating k12.ed.math, it seems,
so I'll put up a FAQ page for that newsgroup.)
I've just been using Netscape. It has a built in editor, WYSIWYG type. I
had no difficulty making any indentations that I wanted using the pull
down menus and tool bars.
Of course, if you really want to do it by coding the HTML from scratch,
this maybe doesn't appeal to you? I have gone to the website for Univ.
of Illinois, Urbana Champaigne (sp?) and read their Beginner's guide to
HTML. (Well, maybe 70% of it...) so at least I understand the stuff
(sorta) when I see it.
Isn't there a Netscape browser for OS/2? There must be. They even have a
Netscape for Linux.
