 Roxio acquires Pressplay
 
 
Roxio, the software company behind "Easy CD Creator" and
"Record Now", has acquired majority ownership of Pressplay, an
online music subcription service based in the states, from Universal Music
Group and Sony Music Entertainment. Roxio will be using this service's
access to the major labels in the states to re-introduce the Napster brand
according to this Official Press Release from Roxio. No news on a Canadian
service has been released but all parties appear to be quite hopefull so I
believe we will likely have access to the new Napster soon.
