Sorry, this made me laugh.  While traveling through Ontario, I met a
Canadian who was a member of the US armed forces.  He volunteered because
he thought he would be more likely to see more of the world in our
military.  At any rate, the reason he was where he was for me to run into
him was because he was on his way across the border into the US.  He wanted
to take advantage of our veteran's health benefits.

I was shocked to hear that.  I asked, and he said they were better than
what he gets up there.  I didn't ask him what his issues were, but I
suspect that could be a part of why he thought that.
