    I relly think that for now trackers are not really good when you need 
quality audio, but things are getting better and better. Fisrt, lets say that 
MOD are gone by far, and the last trackers, like fastracker and impulse 
tracker are way more powerfull than all the other one, including shitracker 
3.1.. (was good years before). Fastracker introduced volume abd panning 
evellopes, powerfull features. also, fastracker finally was able to do high

bit qyuality mixing without the need of a special sound card, altought mixing 
is quite slow and you need a pentium to use it.
    Impulse tracker bring another improvement to tracking, by adding a 
midi-like channel processing with action note. it is also the first tracker 
that finnaly seem to support more than 64 volume levels, a barrier taht 
prevent other rtacker to achieve decent audio sound quality. and 32 bit 
ixing
with it sound impressive, even with 8 bit samples.
