You have never touched a Playstation have you?  Cause if you had, you would
know that if you turn on your playstatoin (wihtout puttin a Game in).  You 
have
a menu that appears and you can chose between CD Player, and Memory Card (to
manage your saved games).  Go to CD-PLAYER, put in any music CD, and listen.
Or if you want, just put your Music CD in, and it's going to jump into the
CD-Player on itself..
