Well, I don't put any up (or a tree, for that matter) because I have no
children. To me, Christmas (that part of it) is mostly for the children.
Now that I am older, I don't get much enjoyment out of it.
I guess I can see where others would make that assertion, mistake or not.

Around here, dropping the setting a few degrees actually denies the
schools money. Here, every utility, including phone service, is taxed
"for the schools."
