I've just d/loaded and installed the 3.8.14-19 (DOS32) snapshot and I can  
confirm that there are no "ticks" or "?" here either,
which indicates to  
me that, even though all my archivers are on my path, OpenXP doesn't see  
them.

Same here.

I've noticed something else as well .....

Whilst using OpenXP's built-in HDD navigation tool, my drive letters are  
not listed in the correct order. They are listed thus: B: C: D: F: G: H:  
J: E: A: I:

Sorry but that doesn't happen here with the current snapshot, language  
switching now works as it should.
