Flooding of the Ohio River is in the news today. The last big flood was
in the early '60s. In Louisville, Kentucky they tried to install the flood-
wall gates but they were gone, sold by a crooked politician. Big scandal,
lots of lawsuits. The Beach Bums' song, "Fun, fun, fun til her daddy takes
the T-bird away" was popular at the time. A friend parodied it to
"Flood, flood, flood til Jesus takes the river away."
It was even ecumenical; the last chorus was
Flood, flood, flood til Allah takes the river,
Flood, flood, flood til Buddha takes the river,
Flood, flood, flood til Jesus takes the river away.
