WN> My bbs isn't accessable via the Internet. To do so, you'd need;
WN> 1) A Domain with either a 24 hour connection or an
TG> ISP that would dial
WN> your domain.
TG> What about a Dynamic Domain, where the words stay the
TG> same, but the IP number
TG> changes... (since my connection is killed when/if I were to turn off my
TG> computer). I think BC Tel offers this, since they want to use the IP
TG> addresses that are available, to the best of their capability.
As long as the name can be reached and your ISP will dial you, it'll work.
WN> 2) A vmodem that points to your domain for people to telnet into it.
TG> How do you setup a VModem in Win'95? Other then possibly NetModem/32?
I have no idea what's availible under Windows of any flavor.
TG> Ahhhh..........! :) Now I know who this "juge" person is.. I kept
eeing
TG> these inet email addresses, pointing to @juge.com ...
TG> I'm guessing that this is him?
You'd be correct.
TG> PS-I'm glad I never bothered looking into ISDN, since
TG> it seems like it only
TG> has a half decent connection for using one or two
TG> computers browsing the net,
TG> downloading, etc... but it doesn't sound like it would
TG> be good for setting up
TG> any kind of high traffic web page, or bbs via telnet,
TG> or ftp site or anything.
If you had the analog lines I had, you'd be thrilled with ISDN.:-)
In any case, it's the best availible here at this moment (at a reasonable
price). It's about 8 times faster than the analog line was, plus the analog
callers can now get good connects. The cost is about the same as 2 analog
lines were. All I was out was the cost of the TA.
