-> Because it's not.. If someone gets scared by video games or films
-> they must have deep psychological problems..
In your opinion! If a game doesn't make me feel something then
it's not worth playing in MY opinion. Games should be immersive, and
there are some that do try to immerse players into the game, such as
Resident Evil and a lot of role-playing and adventure games.
I, for one, LIKE a game in which the characters, storyline, and
atmosphere is so well done that it makes me feel for what is happening
in the game. It's the only thing that really makes me want to play and
what keeps me coming back to play them.
Resident Evil was great! There was really nothing like it
before. The atmosphere was incredible, especially playing it with the
lights out, and some scenes did make me jump in the original, like with
the dogs crashing through the windows and the zombie that fell out of
the closet, and following a blood-smeared wall with the music slowly
building in intensity. Great stuff!
And there are a lot of scenes in RPG's that really touched me,
especially in the Lunar series. To me, if a videogame doesn't make you
feel something then it failed to live up to it's potential.
